About

Rhiannon Rebecca Salisbury makes paintings that feel like landscapes in motion.

Working across canvas and repurposed Welsh roofing slate, she builds surfaces where colour seems to seep, flare and settle. Pigment and oil meet the marks already held in the slate; on canvas, the same restless energy can spread across a much larger space. The works hover between earth and body, image and object, something remembered and something still taking shape.

Based in London, Salisbury is interested in what materials carry with them: weather, labour, time and the traces of a place. She completed an MA in Painting at the Royal College of Art in 2026 and is an Allen Gallery Artist-in-Residence with Hampshire Cultural Trust, 2026–27.
